Students from Haberdashers Monmouth school took a trip to Penarth using their curiosity to learn about the crews' life-saving work and how they help keep people safe at sea.

The students discovered the importance of beach safety tips, helping them understand how to stay safe by the sea, and students finished the day with an ice cream by the seaside.

Year 2 teacher Mrs Sarah Chowns said: “It was a wonderful day of cross learning, transferring aspects of our History, Geography, PSHE and art curriculums into real life experiences.”

“Huge thanks to all the volunteer staff at the Penarth lifeboat station for giving up their time to provide an informative and enjoyable experience for children.”
