Haberdashers Monmouth School hosted their 10th annual science fair with children from Monmouth Prep School, Usk Primary School, Berry Hill, Llandogo, Kymin View and Overmonnow.

Children in year 6 took part in the science far, working on projects which they are interested in and topics which they are passionate about, and competed against other schools in the area.

There were 12 judges, who marked the teams on their individual designs, over 24 groups participated in the competition.

Dr Siôn Wall was the organiser of the event but many of the judges and staff gave up their time to support the day of events.

Mr Jack Molyneux, teacher from Usk Primary School said: “This is the third year I have taken children along, this is a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore science, answer questions that ignite their curiosity and get stuck into a project.”

Mrs Yildiz, teacher from Berry Hill Primary School said: “The children are having a fab day, it’s been really lovely seeing the children interact nicely with others, you can see they are all really confident with what they are presenting and its a great chance to see our mini scientists.”
