The May Day Bank Holiday got off to a steamy start as the vintage enthusiasts from the Border County Vintage Show held their annual two-day show on Vauxhall fields.

All forms of vintage transport were on show, from steam engines to tractors, landrovers, motorcycles and military vehicles.

Alex Simmons was there with his Peugeot 206 he was left in a will. In 2021, when he was diagnosed with cancer, he sold it to Mike price for scrap, who kept it in his barn because he said it was too good to scrap. Then when Alex was given the all-clear, he bought it back from Mike, for the same money he sold it for!

Now it’s a support car for Foresters car club as Alex is a club marshall.
