SIR,

I am very saddened to do this but I have to complain about the recent state of our once very proud and historic town.

It upsets me to see the condition that our roads are in with many large potholes. How many people have to be killed or injured before something is done about this?

Monmouth is supposed to be a tourist attraction due to the great historic features of the town and other events that are organised here.

I am afraid to say that if I was a tourist and visited a town in such disarray I would never visit again and I would advise others not to visit either.

I would also like to say that while walking in Chippenham Mead park you cannot help but notice the amount of dog litter left there by irresponsible owners.
