Making its first appearance at the Remembrance service for HMS Monmouth, the Standard of the Torfaen RNA was warmly welcomed.
Jim Attenborough Torfaen Branch RNA, who meet at Panteg House Griffithstown, used to be Standard Bearer for the Cardiff branch from 1992 - 2010 and Area Standard Bearer covering the whole of South Wales and Gloucestershire from 2010 until 2017, but hasn’t carried a Standard since.
However, on 23rd September, a new Standard was inaugurated and made its first appearance in Monmouth, carried by Jim.
It will be put into good service this months as Jim’s daughter is carrying the Standard in Cardiff for the Festival of Remembrance, then again on Sat 11 at Senedd and on Remembrance Sunday it will be at three services: Pontnewydd for a 10.30am service and then taken to Pontypool for 12 noon and then onto a service at Beaufort Hill at 3pm for the Rassau and Beaufort Branch of the Royal British Legion.
