THE St Catherine's Day service, held by Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls, took place last Friday in St Mary's Priory Church, Monmouth. The School filled the Church for this annual service which was attended by the Master of the Haberdashers' Company, Mr Brian Shawcross, Clerk to the Haberdashers, Captain Fisher and Chairman of the Governors, Dr Christopher Bateman.
The service was conducted by the Rev Una Kroll and the Address was given by the Rev Alison Adams, Director of the Bloxham Project. Readings in the Church were by Mrs Helen Bosanquet, Chairman of HMSG Governors, and by Arti Mahto, Head Girl. The Litany was read by Kate Hale and Danielle Gumm, Deputy Head Girls.
The Chamber Choir opened the service with A Rune of Hospitality by Betty Roe, which was followed by the combined choirs singing Adiemus from Songs of Sanctuary by Karl Jenkins and the Yr 9 Choir then sang the moving Prayer of St Richard by L H White.
