On Sunday, a team of fourteen runners from local running club, Spirit of Monmouth RC, competed in the Cardiff Half Marathon.
Cardiff Half Marathon 2009 involved 9000 runners and was run on a new spectacular route, through the city centre, suburbs and across the Cardiff Bay barrage.
The event was televised on S4C, with highlights to be shown on Channel 4 on Sunday 8th November at 08.00.
The team ran in their newly approved Welsh Athletics colours - a triple blue-yellow-blue diagonal stripe on a white vest - in keeping with the Monmouth Town sports colours of blue & yellow.
As per the club's ethos of inclusivity, the team included experienced marathon runners, intermediate club runners and novices - competing in their 1st ever half marathon.
