Spire appeal update

SIR,

The Vicar, Churchwardens and congregation of St

Mary's Priory Church would like the public to have the

latest up date about the spire, which caused such

consternation at the Mayor's Service in 2006.

The appeal fund has met with such a generous

response that work will begin next summer.

In the meantime, the fund is still open and various

events are held from time to time, such as the music

recitals scheduled for late September and early October.

We would like to thank all those who have shown

their interest by making a donation and attending events.

We can now look forward to the day when our local

landmark will be completely restored and the bells will

ring out again.
