SIR,
I joined others in the inaugural Sleep Out in Cardiff on 8th November.
With the assistance of the readership of the Beacon, my sleep out has to date raised in excess of £650 in support of the service users of the South Wales charity, Llamau. Thank you.
My uncomfortable night's sleep out was followed by a hot cup of tea and a warm and safe bed – not a choice for many young homeless people.
The event did not seek to replicate the hopelessness and fear often felt by young homeless people throughout Wales, but sought to highlight the issue and raise some much-needed funds.
The fantastic work that Llamau do can be seen here: http://www.llamau.org.uk">http://www.llamau.org.uk
My fundraising page remains live as the weather gets colder: http://www.justgiving.com/dgmb">http://www.justgiving.com/dgmb
Thank you. This sum will make a genuine difference.
