Don’t forget Skenfrith fun day and dog show has been resurrected and will be held tomorrow, Sunday August 10th.
The main event starts at 12pm and will be fun for all with the famous duck race which starts at 3.45pm with a top prize of £100, kids games, morris dancers and refreshments including yummy Kelsmor ice creams and hotdogs.
The dog show begins and 1pm and for a £2 entry, you can put your pampered pooch forward for one of 16 categories including Cutest Puppy, Prettiest bitch or Most handsome Dog as well as Best in Show.
There is also a climbing wall being brought down from Derby especially for the occasion and will be manned by Chris and Dan from Hilston Park!
Lots of fabulous prizes have been donated by independent shops in Monmouth whose donations for the raffle will help boost the funds for updated flood defences for the hall which suffered during the last flood and will also support the Village Life project.
Village Life has gone up from managing 5 to now 14 defibs, having been asked last year by Whitecastle and Skenfrith community councils to make sure all the defibs in the area are maintained in good order and get replaced as they reach the end of their working lives.
They are now embarking on trialing a new idea - that of community bleed kits, which are increasingly becoming available elsewhere in the UK. They are intended for use by members of the public in case of serious bleeding injury, whether in towns, cities or rural areas
The fun in Skenfrith village goes on until 4pm but please bring cash as contactless is not available.
