Monmouth Off Street Project have secured the money to have a new skatepark built in town. Section 106 money amounting to around £100,000 has been awarded, along with money raised in the community covers the funding of the proposed park. "We are delighted that the funding is now in place and a really big thanks to everyone who has supported us so far," said Shirley Hughes of adventa, who has been instrumental in getting the project up and running. "Fundraising efforts will continue as it is not yet confirmed that the council will pay for the maintenance of the park. "The last hurdle is the planning application, which will be aired on the 5th August. "If you have a child or know someone who would benefit from a skatepark and want to help speed things along please show the council your support."
