ONE person sustained "minor injuries" in a crash at a sharp turn dual carriageway junction.

The grey Ford Fiesta involved in the Thursday night (October 8) incident at the Ganarew/A40 exit appears to have careered across the opposite lane of the exit slip road onto the offside verge.

"One person was reported to have suffered minor injuries. No arrests were made."

The accident reportedly followed a similar incident there some 18 months ago.

One social media poster said that the A40 road built more than 60 years ago had never been updated "and young drivers make the assumption that the slip roads at junctions will split off the main carriageway at a gentle angle and will not have the sharp turns that they do have...

"The junctions on the M50, A40 and A449 need much better signage warning drivers to slow down and be prepared to negotiate the bends on the slip roads."
