ATOTAL of 116 competitors representing 26 golf clubs took part in the Seniors' Open Meeting at Monmouth Golf Club. The weather was excellent for golf, the course played fast and true, reflecting the hard work of the green staff and the competition was keenly contested by visitors and members like.
At the prize giving President John H Jones thanked the four ladies - Vera Reeks, Shirley Rubery, Pat Sullivan and Sally Jones - for their sterling work issuing the competition cards. Thanks were also extended to the starters, John Biggadike and Robbie Williams, together with Hywel Jones who once again laboured hard to produce the results.
All in all, the day was an outstanding success, with competitors already looking ahead to next year's event.
