Art in Penallt is holding another students’ exhibition with work from all three senior schools in Monmouth on display.

This will be on throughout the summer at the Pig & Apple, at Humble by Nature.

The launch event on last week saw student artists, families and friends invited with renowned Monmouth artist Richard wills and his wife Liz attending.

Richard said that it was a priviledge to have a private viewing of young students “and may have on the walls someone who may turn out to be a Hockney or a Drougett.

“Public exhibition is not an easy thing, it’s a very sensitive area and I found it personally very difficult to put your heart on a wall and have it questioned and examined by everyone who seems to be an art expert, but I can assure the exhibitors that the quality of this work is so high they have nothing to fear. It’s both innovative, which is difficult in portraiture, and also has a very sound technical know-how about it.”

Art in Penallt will take place over the August bank holiday weekend, all details on their website www.artinpenallt.org.uk
