We have just had a bad experience with local recyclers and would like to warn people about unscrupulous companies who offer to buy your scrap metal in their adverts but once loaded onto the lorry do not pay, this is unfortunate as the price of scrap is sky high.
There are several other options available which we wish we had taken, collect up any scrap ourselves and take it to the metal merchants, get a reputable company in to collect the scrap and finally agree a price before hand.
The County Council should help with any information about re-cycling and what options are available?
