Governors at Overmonnow School have successfully appointed Jo Child as head teacher following the retirement of Huw Williams who has stood down after 13 years in the post.

Jo, who is currently acting headteacher at Pembroke Primary School in Chepstow, will take up her post in January 2016.

In September the current deputy headteacher Mr Richard Davies, pictured, will become acting head and their Foundation stage leader Mrs Amanda Baxter will step in to the role as acting Deputy Head, both until the end of term in December 2015.
