Pupils at Cross Ash School joined in the fun of St David's Day and dressed up in costumes with a Welsh theme. The judges were treated to a variety of music and song as the pupils entertained their classmates with recitations and musical pieces.
Monmouth Comprehensive School's Eisteddfod took place on Friday March 2nd. Around 700 Year 7, 8 and 9 students participated in a number of competitions including performing a Welsh song as a Form Group, creating a model of a Welsh icon, individual singing, dancing and an open competition where we had a band, duets and a drum solo.
For the first time, students also put on a fashion show, modelling fashions made from recycled items, to start the Green Week events.
To celebrate St David's Day, Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls and Inglefield House held their annual Eisteddfods.
This wonderful celebration of music, dance, poetry, drama and other events held across the schools is an opportunity for all girls to participate and is a magical whole-school event.
There was a rare double, when Mather Jackson were the overall winners for both the senior and prep school. All houses performed magnificently and it was a splendid day from start to finish.
For HMSG, Bagnall Oakeley won the impressive house choir competition, while Mia Goddard was the Blue Riband musician and Isabel Wood the Bard for 2012.
At Inglefield House the winning house choir was Imbert Terry, the Blue Riband musician winner was Alice Tang and Elan Shellard was crowned Bard.
