Rockfield Rovers, presently top of Division 3 in the Gwent County League hammered Villa Dino (Christchurch) into a 7-0 defeat on Saturday in a tough but fair fight with no bad tackles.
Daniel Macdonald scored two goals with Ryan Jones, Jed Haney, Nick Brown, Simon Roberts and Richie Rosser all scoring one putting Rovers back on winning terms after their recent losing stretch.
Keeping their place at the top of Division 3 is not cut and dried yet as both Llanwern and Fleur de Lys all have a game in hand and Rovers have these teams to play away yet.
Their last result against Villa Dino produced a 5-1 victory showing Rovers to be consistent with their results and with striker Sam McCoy back at the club, the team has more than a fighting chance of promotion
