A superb spell of swing bowling from Jonathon Roberts helped Monmouth's 1st XI to open their league campaign with a comprehensive eight-wicket win.
After winning the toss, skipper Paul Swingwood took the brave decision to bowl first against a Worcester Dominies side that amassed over 300 runs in last season's corresponding fixture.
His confidence was rewarded as Roberts (six for 48 from 17 overs) and Richard Shaw (nought for 28 from nine overs) both swung the ball well.
