SIR,
As I was walking from my allotments into town, I noticed that there were a lot of polystyrene cartons, plastic tea cups and a lot more rubbish floating down the river and caught in the weeds.
Also to my astonishment I saw a duck floating down the river it was dead.
I think it was killed by a polystyrene chip carton and other rubbish.
In the 60 years I have lived here I have never seen the Monnow river looking so dirty and untidy.
I hope the environmental officers will take notice of this letter.
