I walk my children to school from St James Street to Osbaston. We all wear bright day-glo colours and hi-viz. Yet cars still pass us at close quarters doing 30mph (the cut off for surviving a collision with a car is 18mph).
I agree with M. Davies that we should aim for visibility but this is a game where the dice are loaded. What next: should we wave a white flag when crossing the road and just hope for a ceasefire? I’ve lost track of the times I had to retreat - with children - as a car rushes through on the Green Man.
