SIR,

Last Thursday someone threw a nearly full, large plastic bottle over a hedge into our field.

Minor littering perhaps, but that bottle either hit, or startled one of our alpacas, resulting in a trauma injury.

The alpaca is unable to stand. Vets have attended three times and, at the time of writing, we do not know whether a recovery is on the cards.

Then on Sunday morning, I watched a group of cyclists ride up the hill from Llangwm and stop for a break by our field gateway, as they often do.

Two male riders proceeded to urinate in the gateway, in full view of my wife and me, albeit with their backs to us. Imagine their reaction if I did this in their garden.

This is not the first time that cyclists have blotted their copybook – last year we had to put a notice on our gate to ask them not to throw their litter into our field gateway, as it is an animal choke hazard.

Sadly some people don't care about their actions, but if they are reading this, I hope they'll reflect on their impact on other people.
