Year 6 pupils at Osbaston Church in Wales School had a real-life history lesson last Thursday (7th October) when a Second World War evacuee paid them a visit.
Jack Rumball was evacuated in 1940 from Ilford to Monmouth, and together with his wife Pat, he is trying to trace his childhood history.
Jack knows he came to Monmouth, but is unsure of which part of the town he was assigned to.
The visit was all part of Year 6's history lessons, where they are currently studying the Second World War with the aid of Ray Bassett, who too was an evacuee.
