Monmouth Under 16s capped off a terrific season with a dramatic cup final win at Caldicott Town against league champions Undy.
There was an extra incentive for the boys as Undy had won the league by two points after Town had been deducted three points for playing unsigned players in a seven – one win earlier in the season.
This happened after a mix-up between the director of football and the league.
After leaving Monmouth in beautiful sunshine, the weather took a turn for the worse and at times looked as if the match could be abandoned because of surface water.
