Rail services from Abergavenny remain cancelled following a large fire at The Star Trading Estate on Ponthir Road, Caerleon, over the weekend.
The huge industrial blaze engulfed local businesses early on Saturday morning. Fire crews were called to the scene at around 2.42am to reports of a large fire within the complex. Later, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they had brought the fire under control, but a full investigation will take place to determine the cause of the fire which has devastated locals.
Meanwhile, in Abergavenny, disruption is rolling into a third day as rail cancellations continue to cause disruption for passengers travelling between the town and the Welsh capital.
The severity of the fire has affected signalling and the overhead electric power, and while repairs continue some lines between the stations remain closed and a heavily reduced service is operating. Major disruption is expected to last until the end of the day.
So far today, ten services from Abergavenny have been cancelled due to the incident.
