Residents of Raglan and surrounding area are being given the chance to have their say with the launch of a two week consultation over the future new village hall.

This will enable the Raglan Village Hall Association (RVHA) to understand the needs of the Raglan community as part of their preparation for the Stage 2 BIG Lottery funding application in support of the project to build a new £900k community facility in Raglan.

The consultation is aimed at updating the community on progress over the past year and then, by engaging with all sections of the community, gathering evidence of the community’s needs.

Speaking at the launch event, Andrew Johnson, Chair of the RVHA, said: “Updating the community is being achieved by running six drop-in sessions, spread across the two weeks, at the Old Church School.

“It is hoped that this will allow people to come at a time convenient for them and to give them the chance to ask questions about the project that are important to them personally”.

The remaining sessions are planned for the following times: Thursday 29th Oct - 2pm to 7pm; Saturday 31st Oct - 10am to 4pm. November sessions are; Monday 2nd - 2pm to 5pm and 7:30pm to 9:00pm; Thursday 5th - 2pm to 7pm; Saturday 7th - 10am to 4pm

Alongside the drop in sessions, a questionnaire has been launched to help gather evidence of the community’s needs which will be used to support the funding application to BIG Lottery.

Andrew said; “the more evidence we can offer, the stronger our application will be so we are encouraging everyone in our local community, both in Raglan and it’s surrounds, to complete the questionnaire”.

The questionnaire can be completed on line at the website www.raglanvillagehall.org.uk or paper copies can be picked up from - and returned to - Raglan Post Office.
