JAMES Thomas and Sophie Grice presented Mrs Eileen Goodrich with a cheque for the British Heart Foundation - the last instalment of a total of over £600 collected at Osbaston Infants School last year.
The presentation was made when Year 2 children dropped in at Simone's Health Club for advice about healthy exercise. Simone Price also accepted a donation towards the defibrillator that her club hopes to purchase.
Simone took the children through a well designed programme of fitness exercise which was thoroughly enjoyed by both children, teachers and helpers.
Mrs Goodrich said it was a wonderful effort by the children, staff and parents of Osbaston Infants School for their chosen charity. Mrs Goodrich, Fundrais-ing Co-ordinator for the North Gwent Branch of the BHF, and her husband Terry, who is Chairman for the area, are very grateful.
Mrs Goodrich thanked everyone for their generosity and explained why the BHF needed the funding. She told the children to eat healthily with plenty of fruit and vegetables, avoid smoking and get plenty of exercise.*
