A group fighting for better public transport, which was set up before the pandemic, is to hold a public meeting to discuss its vision for Chepstow.

Transition Chepstow Transport Group will be hosting a public display and consultation of their Sustainable Transport Plan for Chepstow, on Sunday April 3 2022, from 11am to 3pm.

Following the inaugural public meeting - Congestion Free Chepstow - previously held April 2019 – the TCTG has initiated a strategic comprehensive vision and detailed outline action plan to improve local transport facilities and services.

In the new challenging era of the post-pandemic, climate change, air pollution hazards to health, and now tragically the Russian invasion of the Ukraine; a radical re-assessment of transport, energy and political priorities is required.

The major topics and issues include: public rail and bus infrastructure facilities and services; active travel facilities for pedestrians and pedal cyclists with the revised Highway Code; new modes of augmented efficient travel with ebikes and Karshare schemes.

And the group will also discuss various urgent and long-term proposals to alleviate the chronic severe traffic congestion at the Highbeech Roundabout logjam bottleneck.

Anyone interested is invited to share their comments and suggested proposals for the much-needed transport improvements.
