CALDICOT Town Team has received a boost, winning funding of £2,000 to support its running costs.

The funding was received following a contribution of Section 106 monies after the ASDA development in Caldicot.

The total amount of £225,000 has been received by Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) which allows support for the establishment of a town centre partnership.

The partnership has the aim of developing and implementing an action plan and financial budget for the improvement and promotion of Caldicot Town Centre.

MCC met on Wednesday 2nd September to approve the funding.

Caldicot Town Team was established in 2013 after a call was answered to set up a town centre partnership to bring together public and private interests in the town and boost the town centre.

It is anticipated the funding will enable Caldicot Town Team to function more effectively and continue regeneration activity in the town in the future.
