A FUNDRAISING event has raised over £1,000 for a charity that aims to help young people at risk of sexual exploitation.

The Great Wye Swim, which took place last month (15th May), saw around 70 entries from around Monmouthshire who took the plunge for charity The Children’s Society.

Adrian Tew, who organised the event with Iain Macdonald, presented the cheque of £1,077.48 to Rhyannon Burman-Day, senior regional fundraising manager at the Children’s Society who spoke of her appreciation of the “phenomenal” amount that the event raised.

“I am very, very pleased, it’s a phenomenal amount.

“Thank you to all involved for their fantastic generosity.”
