Sir,
Following last Wednesday's protest outside Monmouth's Shire Hall against the proposed rise in university fees, David Davies MP came to our school on Friday morning to answer our questions and queries.
Our sixth form students were respectful and took into account the points Mr Davies made while still managing to express our views clearly; the rise in fees remains a concern to most of us.
His words were thought provoking and made it clear the real situation the country is facing.
To support our understanding further, Mr Davies agreed to arrange a visit to Westminster to talk to other MPs.
I am extremely proud of our sixth form students and the way in which we conducted ourselves both on Wednesday and Friday. We have strong views but we also listen.
With the coverage on the national news, we were a prime example of young people in this small town in Wales getting noticed for the right reasons.
