SIR, I believe that the attitude of certain people in the town is petty, particularly about the large fish placed over the Mr Rolls statue by the Wye Valley River Festival. I presume you will have another complaint that the town's championship winning football team here draped flags, scarves and football shirts over the monument. I for one am a very proud Monmothian that they have won the league again and I believe Mr Rolls himself would be very proud of the way the town has progressed and if he were alive today he would be proud to support both the fact the town benefited from the festival and the revenue shops received from it. Also I believe he would be proud to support the local teams and don the strips they wear. John Fletcher (Monmouth)
