SIR
Monmouth Comprehensive School is holding a Promises Auction on the evening of Friday October 12th. Organised by the school's Friends Association, the auction will be raising funds to help the school purchase Kindles and pay for large IT screens to support the children's learning throughout the school.
There has been a fantastic response to the request for promises and over 70 items will be auctioned off. Bids can be placed on items as diverse as a week's holiday in a luxury villa in Lanzarote, or a day's mixed rough and driven game shooting - and from lessons in Greek or Japanese to freshly baked homemade cakes. There are promises to suit all budgets and this is a great way for parents, teachers and members of the community to support the school.
Tickets for the Promise Auction cost £5 and include dinner served at your table and music provided by the students. There is also a fully licensed bar.
Tickets are available by emailing [email protected]">[email protected] or by telephoning Nicola Davies on 01873 821735. For people who are unable to attend but would still like to bid, an online catalogue will be released shortly and bids will be able to be made via the internet. Please use the contact information above if you would like to receive the catalogue electronically.
The Friends Association hopes that the evening will be a great success and that members of the community will enjoy browsing the catalogue and bidding on the great array of promises – and in doing so, supporting Monmouth Comprehensive School and its pupils in a very direct and practical way.
