SIR,

In the past two months my house has had one burglary and one attempted burglary, which caused significant damage to the property.

Yet the only contact we have had from the police is when we have called or visted the police station. On both occasions we were advised not to touch anything in case of tampering with 'evidence'.

After the attempted burglary, the criminals were nice enough to leave behind their tools, but the police didn't turn up to the scene, so why should the burglars worry about leaving finger prints and evidence behind?

This is an open letter to the local police to say a big "thank you" and to tell them to keep up the good work of having two police officers on the country roads surrounding Monmouth with their speed guns. Its nice to know that reducing crime is high on your agenda.
