GWENT Police is re-appealing for information to help locate Jon Marc Stephens who absconded from HMP Prescoed.

Stephens, who has convictions for robbery, was on day release on September and did not return at the allotted time.

Stephens is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, of slim build with short dark brown hair.  He is not a sex offender.

It's believed there may be a potential risk due to the fact that he is no longer in the custody of the prison service.

Gwent Police has activated its operational plan with the aim of locating him, and the prison is co-operating fully with the police.

Anyone who sees Stephens or has any information about his whereabouts is advised not to approach him but to ring Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 456 22/09/13
