OFFICERS of the Special Constabulary at Monmouth will be responsible for policing Raglan village and surrounding area tomorrow (Friday).

They will begin a tour of duty which does not coincide with that of regular village officer PC Peter Prosser.

Inspector Peter Davies said: "This is another example of the Special Constabulary being deployed in a meaningful way. Divisional Officer Edwards and Section Officer Hancock will be responsible for any incidents which may arise.

"They have a highly visible Ford Maverick vehicle and their presence will go some way to reducing the fear of crime which is in line with community expectations. Other dates for Special Constables policing Raglan are being arranged."

Heddlu Gwent Police has been recruiting for the Special Constabulary recently and anyone showing an interest is requested to contact Divisional Officer Edwards or PC Dai Arnold at Monmouth Police Station.
