Police are appealing for information after two distraction burglaries were committed last Thursday within a couple of hours of each other.
The first occurred at Pitman's Court, Monmouth, late morning when an elderly lady was asked by two males, who said they were from the water board, to check her water.
One went into the kitchen while the other said he was going to the flat upstairs.
