GWENT Police is appealing for information following the death of a motorcyclist near Usk on Wednesday (3rd June).

The man killed has been named as 43-year-old Julian Lodge who was from the Bristol area.

Mr Lodge's bike reportedly collided with a bus on the Monmouth Road near Usk at around 3.45pm.

Police attended but Mr Lodge was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the bus and two passengers were uninjured but were left shaken following the incident, they have been treated for the effects of shock. A family liaison officer is providing support to the family of the deceased at this time.

Police officers investigating the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for information to help identify the occupants of a Nissan Terrano, which was travelling in the direction of Usk at the time of the collision.

Officers believe the occupants of the vehicle could be potential witnesses to the incident. Anyone who recognises the vehicle is asked to contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 271 3/6/2015.
