A PLEA has been made for volunteers for this year’s Monmouth Festival.
Organisers are very proud to be staging the 36th festival this year, but staging a festival, particularly a free festival, is an expensive business not just in financial terms but in the time it takes to plan, organise and run.
The festival’s unpaid volunteers come in all ages, shapes and sizes but what they all have in common is that they’re passionate about nurturing local talent, encouraging and supporting events throughout the town and most importantly of all providing a free live music festival to the people of Monmouth.
If you want to make a difference, it doesn’t matter if it’s only for a few hours, a night, or a couple of nights. As we all know “every little helps!” And it’s not all hard work! Volunteers have lots of fun, make great friends, and meet some fantastic artists.
To find out what happens behind the scenes at the festival come along to the Health and Safety / Volunteer Sign Up meeting held back stage on tonight (Thursday 26th July) at 6.30pm or email [email protected]
•Monmouth Festival 2018 starts tomorrow (27th July). The main stage will be situated in Blestium Street car park and St Mary’s Church will host the classical programme. For the first time this year the second stage will be hosted by The Riverside Hotel.
