PLANS for a unique hotel and spa at the Valley Enterprise Park in Monmouth drew considerable interest and support from local people last weekend, as 231 visitors attended a public exhibition at the town's Shire Hall.

The exhibition boards on display presented Alchemy Hospitality Management Ltd's proposals for the 11-acre brownfield site on Hadnock Road, Monmouth, which would transform the disused former manufacturing site into a premium hotel and destination spa.

People who attended the public exhibition were able to see for themselves outline plans for the hotel with 55 studios and five suites, and the state-of-the-art spa set within the landscaped grounds.

The proposed development would create a significant number of jobs, generate business opportunities for local people, and provide a boost to the local economy.

At the exhibition, members of the project team were on hand to discuss the proposals in more detail and Jan Kitcher, managing director of Alchemy Hospitality Management, said: "We were delighted that so many people took the time to visit the exhibition and give us their views on our proposals.

"The response was overwhelmingly positive and we hope that even more people will take the opportunity to view the project development website at http://www.hotelandspaonthewye.org">www.hotelandspaonthewye.org and let us know what they think.

"If all goes well, we expect to submit a planning application in summer 2015."
