Monmouthshire County Council has officially issued a series of temporary traffic regulations that will impact motorists across the county throughout the month of July. Head of Neighbourhood Services Carl Touhig confirmed that multiple orders have been finalized or proposed to ensure public safety while essential utility installations, infrastructure maintenance, and road resurfacing works are safely carried out. While all affected routes will maintain reasonable access for fronting properties, local motorists are strongly advised to plan journeys ahead and utilise designated diversionary routes.
The formal disruptions span across several key towns and villages:
- Undy (July 3): Under The Ramp Notice of Making, a section of The Ramp will temporarily close from its junction with Whitehall Gardens for approximately 30 meters. The closure operates from 10am–5pm for poling works, with a signed diversion via Church Road.
- Chepstow (July 4–5): As detailed in Green Street Notice of Making , Welsh Water works will require closing a 35-meter section of Green Street from Hardwick Avenue. Because this is a no-through route, no signed diversion is available, and motorists should expect small delays.
- Earlswood (July 6–8): The file Chapel Road Notice of Making outlines water works shutting a 155-meter stretch of Chapel Road, 0.80km from the Shirenewton to Wentwood Mill Road junction. Traffic will divert via Argoed Road and Chapel Road.

- Osbaston (July 8–13): Under the intent in Prospect Road Osbaston Notice of Intention , a 35-meter section of Prospect Road will close for gas service installations. Diversions run via Lower Prospect Road, Duchess Road, and Highfield Road.
