We can now confirm that Dixton roundabout will close from March 11th.

Cllr Jane Lucas has told the Beacon there is an open-ended traffic order from the 11th of March for quite a few months, “however this is so that they could have the option of when they did the work,” she said.

“The work needing to be done has now been surveyed and they've had to go back to Welsh Government for more money as the roundabout is in such a poor state of repair”.

She has confirmed they will be doing the work over the nights starting from the 16th of March and anticipating 3 to 4 nights for the work to be completed.

Importantly, when they do this work they will be closing down half of the roundabout allowing traffic through on the other half.

The A-40 will not be shut.

From today, resurfacing and highway improvement works on the A4136 Staunton Road, Staunton will commence for three weeks under night works (8pm-6am). A full closure has been determined to be the safest and most appropriate method to ensure the works can be undertaken safely.
