PLAID Cymru Deputy Senedd Leader Delyth Jewell MS has put the spotlight on children going hungry over the summer because of a lack of free school meals for pupils.

South Wales East MS Delyth Jewell said: “Food banks in our area are struggling. Donations have decreased in recent months of the cost of living, and leading up to the school holidays especially, many families are worried.”

“That’s before the holidays start. I called for more support to be given to these food banks to make sure that all through the summer, hungry children are fed.”

The Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary urged constituents to use the ‘Claim What’s yours’ single advice fund, that has helped in the South Wales East region more than 124,000 people economically disadvantaged communities to claim an additional income of £64.5 billion.
