SIR,
I am writing to complain about the piles of mud/ building waste in the playing fields opposite the Fire/ Ambulance Station that interfere with the use of the playing fields for football etc.
I noted on Sunday 23rd December signs saying the mud is for the 'Keep Off The Streets Group' (or similar), however, the mud actually makes the kids play on the streets as they are unable to use the field especially the goal area.
The piles of mud are full of concrete, bricks and other masonry that could cause injury to children, I am not sure who has allowed this to happen.
Furthermore, why are people who use these facilities on a regular basis as I do with my son and nephews not asked their opinion?
I spoke to Shirley Hughes at the Usk Show regarding this and she informed me it would be moved to another part of the field as it had been placed in the wrong area.
Yet here we are a few months later and no progress or movement of the mud /building waste has been seen.
Can someone please explain to me how the 'Keep Off The Streets' people can justify the dumping of waste material and mud that stops children playing off the streets?
Is the dumping of this mud/ waste on the playing fields really for the kids or is it the start of the building of a new hospital car park? This is a rumour in the town.
