A Monmouth man is offering a £1,000 reward for information about the shooting of a pure-breed pig.

One of John Hobson's three Tamworth pigs was shot last Saturday morning (23rd October) and the reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the culprit.

Shots were fired at about 7.30am last Saturday at the smallholding, which is near the Kymin water reservoir.

A walker called in to tell Mr Hobson one of his pigs had been shot and he was making his way there at about 10.30am when two men were seen dragging the carcass into a black doublecab 4x4.

"We are looking for a tall, grey haired man in his 50s and a stocky man mid-40s with black roll-up woolly hat," said Mr Hobson.
