Following your article in the Beacon on 4th July concerning the proposed withdrawal by Monmouthshire County Council of the 65 bus service, a group of individuals on The Narth have set up an online petition: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HKXC2S5.

The petition highlights the importance of this bus service to those who live along its route from Chepstow to Monmouth via Itton, Devauden, Llanishen, Trellech, The Narth and Penallt.

The loss of this essential service will cut off many people from education, employment and social services. It will impact most heavily on young people and older residents. It is a vital service to a large rural area and needs to be supported and funded by local government.

Readers of the Beacon are invited to show their support by following the link to the online petition where they may leave their name, postcode and any comments they wish to make.

The online petition, along with a paper version for those who prefer not to use an online system, will be presented to MCC at their next meeting on 26th July.
