The County Air Ambulance received a surprise gift of £515 on New Year's Eve, when Pat Cowell, Manageress of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill at Ross, presented Zina Higgs with three collection envelopes for the charity. Pat's husband, family and friends organised a surprise 60th birthday party for Pat on Saturday, December 22nd, and a collection was made in lieu of presents raising £230. In the Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop, Pat and the staff held Christmas tombolas and raised £240. They were very grateful to everyone who donated prizes. On the shop counter, the collection box for Air Ambulance which collects pennies and oddments of spare change has collected £45, making a grand New Year start of £515. Pat and everyone at the shop are very grateful to everyone who gave generously.
