The Red House Nursery School in Upton Bishop recently underwent an Ofsted inspection. This is the fourth Ofsted inspection for the School since it was founded in 1996 by Principal Mrs. Angela Curry. The report began with observing that "The provision is outstanding. Children are confident and enjoy their time at the nursery school. They take part in worthwhile, meaningful activities which enable them to be imaginative, creative, active and purposeful. The children make excellent progress in all areas of learning and are well supported by adults who take an active part in children's play and in promoting their understanding". The Ofsted inspector found that "Children are welcomed into the nursery school by very friendly staff and settle well as they are sensitively helped to feel secure and confident in their environment. Each child is highly valued as a unique individual". The report went on to observe that "The leadership and management of the nursery school is outstanding. The setting is run by a well-qualified and experienced proprietor who leads and inspires staff. There is a considerable commitment to assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the educational programme offered and high levels of dedication and enthusiasm shown by all adults who work in the setting". Mrs Curry said: "We have always received a 'Good' or 'Very Good' Ofsted in the past, but this time we have been accredited with 'Outstanding'. We are delighted with this report, in particular the recognition of all staff commitment."
