Outdoor events are back!

The Museum is bringing to town three fantastic shows in August this year, so put these dates in your diary now or better still book straightway – spaces will be more limited this year.

First up on Wednesday August 11 at 7pm is Heartbreak Productions adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald’s classic The Great Gatsby.

They’ll give you some of the glitz and glamour of the Roaring 1920s wealthy America with sparkling costumes, jazz, prohibition partying and a web of romantic intrigue.

So get the glad rags out, check out the Charleston and be transported to the Jazz Age with Heartbreak Productions.

On Saturday August 14 at 7pm, the years roll back to the Regency period when love and romance are in the capable hands of Jane Austen and the fun and funny Pantaloons give a fast-paced adaptation of her witty masterpiece Pride and Prejudice.

It’s one of the best-loved stories of all time, dealing with the most important questions in life… Will Mrs Bennett manage to offload her numerous daughters in record time?

Will Lizzy and Darcy actually get together?

Will creepy Mr Collins just go away please? Join The Pantaloons for this delightfully innovative and hilarious new open-air adaptation.

The last show is especially for families and young fans of David Walliams’ best-selling book Mr Stink on Sunday August 22 at 5pm.

One afternoon in an average English town, two restless souls unite on a park bench – one of them the lonely 12 year old Chloe Crumb, the other an incredibly smelly homeless man and his loyal dog, the Duchess.

Acting upon her curiosity and responding to her kindness, Chloe and Mr Stink forge an extraordinary and rewarding friendship that takes them to the heady heights of live television and Downing Street via a garden shed.

So do accept Heartbreak Productions’ invitation to celebrate Annabelle’s 10th birthday, hosted by everyone’s favourite MP candidate, Janet Crumb! (Almost) everyone is welcome… that is, everyone apart from Chloe’s new friend, Mr Stink!
