Monmouth Town Council Invites you to say “Thank You for the Music” at Outdoor Cinema Event Celebrating the Re-Opening of Inglis Bridge

They are delighted to invite residents to a spectacular Outdoor Cinema Event on Sunday 20th September at Vauxhall Fields, celebrating the landmark re-opening of Inglis Bridge and a fantastic achievement for our community.

After inviting the public to vote for their favourite film, there was no “Winner Takes It All” debate – Mamma Mia! proved to be the runaway favourite, with residents answering the call in their numbers!

Whether you’re a lifelong ABBA fan or simply looking for a memorable evening with family and friends, this promises to be an event to remember. So “Take a Chance on Me” and join us for an unforgettable night under the stars. Bring your picnic blanket or camping chair, gather your favourite people, and if you feel inspired, don’t hesitate to arrive in your best ABBA-inspired outfit. While fancy dress isn’t essential, everyone is encouraged to unleash their inner “Dancing Queen” and enjoy the atmosphere!

The event will take place at Vauxhall Fields , with gates opening at 6.15 pm ahead of a 7.15 pm start time. Food and drink vendors will be on site, along with lighting and toilet facilities, ensuring that everyone has everything they need for a fantastic evening.

Osbaston pupils were at the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 16 at Inglis Bridge as the major refurbishment of the project reached its final stage ahead of the opening to the public.

The ceremony celebrated the completion of the restoration works on with some of the final works include the removal of the contractor work compound and completing associated site clearance activities still to be done.

The bridge is closed temporarily while these final tasks are carried out.

A resident-led community celebration is being held on August 31
